🎟 LAST CHANCE TO GET EMOJI TICKETS for SUNDAY at 4pm at The Wild Project! 🎶
I’m so fucking lucky to get to be the one to do my show. 🥹 And I can’t believe I’m almost done with this run of shows!!
I have the most fun 😜, open my heart 🫀 so much, make some truly unhinged choices 🤷🏽♀️ and lose my ever-loving mind 🤯 in one hour.
And YOU 🫵🏽 are a huge part of that. And I mean that so literally!

The show is really kind of a workshop that is also a stand-up set/ a story / a concert, so it changes A LOT depending on who’s in the room.
It’s been really thrilling to experience the hilarious little surprises, the joy and wonder of discovery 🧠 on our journey of emoji and human connection 🫂🕊!
The beautiful thing about it is that the show is both really “high” and “low” “brow.” 🤨
EMOJI: The Hieroglyphs of Our Time, or how I learned to stop worrying and send the risky text 🤷🏽♀️ is…
a chaotic musical TED Talk...
or maybe like a poetic 📝 hilarious 😁 love letter 💌 concert 🎙 lecture 👩🏽🏫
that sold out New York City Fringe Festival earlier this year!

This show is:
✅ Funny AF 😌
✅ Has 5.5 original songs 🎶 (my singing voice — actually very good 🎙)
✅ Full of tangents that give language to things you kinda always thought 💁🏽♀️
✅ Nerdy in a fun way 🤓
✅ Featuring videos, slides, and MUSIC 🔮
If you’ve ever…
☺️ Craved community
💬 Wondered why some text a novel — & others send a single heartxclamation point ❣️
🤔 Felt the crushing weight of an awkward miscommunication
📱 Sent “no worries if not” when you actually meant “I’ll do it this time I SWEAR”
🍆 Wished you could use this to talk about baba ganouj
👀 Watched a show that made you laugh, feel, & bond for life with the person sitting next to you…
… then you should ABSOLUTELY come see this show 💁🏽♀️🪄

With… original songs 🎶, a sexy glimpse into the my receipts archive 🧾, jokes about emoji!, art criticism!, and a LOT of big feelings 🤣😫💀🥰💩🫣🫦🌝 about relationships 👯♀️, texting 💌, language 💬, power 🔋, connection 🫂, and the SUPERMOON 🌕
Unsolicited opinions I got about the show
We were locked in the entire time.
There’s layers to how amazing the show is, because Aarushi literally sings and she also does a Powerpoint and comedy… It’s multifaceted. With history and trivia, and it’s political….It proves [Aarushi] both funny and hot.
I saw your show and it was great! Right there in the front row 👀 You looked pretty 😜
“People could possibly fall in love.”
When you did that thing in the Supermoon song, it was a gag!!!!
…and you better be one of them… nab those tickets🎟
time as texture ⏳🌊
I’m feeling very amazing too that I put together a very last-minute exclusive and impromptu writing workshop for 11/11 — I decided to do it about 24 hours in advance.
Huge thanks to my friend Florida who helped me gather people, along with the Asian improv groupchat I posted in! I hosted and facilitated a workshop with 5 lovely writers in a Greenpoint studio as we explored Time as Texture. I loved the places we traveled together 💌 🚗 🧠
In this seminar, we will explore the range of flavors and textures time takes on — whether we’re waiting for a text back, trying to land a punchline, holding ourselves in plnak, or feeling the bass vibrate thru every cell.”
I’ve been workshopping my workshops and I hope to have both virtual and IRL options — so stay tuned. I will release some winter course offerings later this month. If you are enthusiastically seeking these, please reach out!

Sadly we took this selfie without one of the writers, which sucks, because they were really cute! 🤦🏽♀️
Next week I will be performing EMOJI🤷🏽♀️ at Pratt, where I’m an “Alum-in-Residence” — I got my MFA there — and doing lunch and some one-on-one coaching sessions with BFA Writing students. So, yeah, it’s like, what can’t she do? 🤪
👉🏽 ALSO — Please donate to my dear friend Omnia in Gaza here. I know we’re all pinched AF right now, but if you could donate a coffee or the cost of a meal, that would be so kind and wonderful for Omnia and her family. If you are annoyed by filling out the forms, you can send me a Venmo @aarushifire and I’ll get it to her.
If you feel powerless over this shit, I’ll tell you right now, this makes a real tangible impact.
Anyway, that’s everything! Much love!
Aarushi 🧘🏽♀️
