RSVP to the Partiful for Sunday’s event here. My genius producer Annie designed this poster!

Hello friends!

I hope this email finds you resplendent & beautiful as i know you to be. 🌸

It’s your friend/family/student/mentor/mentee/comrade/confidante/colleague/crush Aarushi Agni1 with some special announcements! 😴😅 Please be nice to me because I learned how to use this weird email software just for you!

I will present the announcements in order of urgency, not in order of importance, so that’s why we’re starting with #2. But for those of you who don’t have an attention span… highlight this for spoilers: I’m doing a solo show at Fringe in April and tickets are available but this weekend I have a benefit show for it, but also we are launching an Indiegogo! Skip to Announcement #1 if your brain is more linear, or if you don’t live in NYC2

wait, what you already knew that? …🙄 the subject line of the email…? 😯 the announcements are out of order? i swear to g… this b… 😤

WELL I AGREE, I THINK IT’S STILL GREAT NEWS EVEN THE SECOND TIME. LIKE, AARUSHI’S REALLY BETTING ON HERSELF. WE LOVE THAT FOR HER.

    • Thu, April 10 @ 8:10 PM

    • Fri, April 18 @ 6:30 PM

    • Sat, April 19 @ 5:20 PM

Okay so here comes the poster, but I know you’re begging for a blurb, so…

Wait, oh my god, don’t say anything — but that blurb you were talking about? Well, she’s coming this way, now!

EMOJI: The Hieroglyphs of Our Time, or how I learned to stop worrying and send the risky text 🤷🏽‍♀️ is part love letter, part-stand-up set, part concert and part iPhone commercial (jk I would literally never). It starts with 🏄🏽‍♀️ and ends with 🎈. Aarushi Agni blends music, comedy, and a multimedia slideshow to explore whether emoji are the universal language of our time — or a crutch in a fractured society that has us clinging to digital crumbs of human connection. It will have you like, 🤣🤣🤣 but also like, 🥺🥺🥺! More here.

ANNOUNCEMENT 3️⃣: The Indiegogo Campaign — please for the love of god watch the video…

We’ve just launched an Indiegogo campaign to pay the people on the project and cover costs, including the hefty $1300 festival fee and to pay the artists involved — particularly, my director Dominique Nisperos, and my producers Sam Lochs, Jess Ducey, and Annie Moretto. Click the campaign to read more about them. Just tap on it please, we worked so hard to make it. Sam Lochs stayed up late making the video, and Jess wrote all the language, and it was just like such a vibe.

We’ve set a modest goal (as in it will not cover all of our costs) for this that we really hope — with your help — we’ll surpass! We’re doing great so far, thank you to everyone who’s donated or plans to donate soon, or is even considering it!

For updates on this campaign, please watch for updates to my web site or my social media.

If you still want to help the show, but can’t donate that’s okay! There are so many other ways you can help from buying a ticket, to sending me good energy, to liking/sharing/saving my posts or talking about it with other people. I’m kinda psychic and I can feel it all!! 🧿

I can’t wait to see you all—whether this Sunday at Pine Box, or in April at NYC Fringe, or in my email saying you backed my project!

But also, if today’s not the day, that’s okay! It’s brutal out there, and please know that I am sending you love, peace & ease. 💙✌🏽🕊

Keep speaking your truth, joining with community & sending risky texts!

in love & community,
Aarushi

💖please keep up with me/my other shows on my website or on Instagram (I hate it, too) or Bluesky I guess.

💜if you want more updates and also writing, please subscribe to my email newsletter here- it will give me the motivation to update it!

💚 i also have my monthly improv show Shoulda Coulda Woulda where we solve people’s love dilemmas using improv & the multiverse on 3/2 at Brooklyn Comedy Collective with special guest Jack Maloney, and you can get tickets here.

1 Aarushi, WHY DID I RECEIVE THIS EMAIL when I actively, secretly hate you? 🙃

you received this email because I, Aarushi Agni, (she/they), BS, MFA, PYT, QT, and Badass MC, have shared community with you at some point in our intersecting lives, & i wanted you to know what was up with me. i’ll admit that my email list is long and it’s not feasible for me to check in with each of you individually before sending this off. if you don’t want to hear about what’s going on with me, please do unsubscribe — keep those boundaries, DIVA! But also pls engage with your community because you are loved!

2 We’re going to have another fundraiser show on Sunday 3/23 at the same time and place because February and March are funny like that. Yeah, to be continued, just like a Marvel movie…
