After years of hemming & hawing, I finally started emailing people because I was taking EMOJI 🤷🏽♀️ to NYC Fringe.
I beg your pardon, what’s EMOJI🤷🏽♀️? It’s my solo show — that I keep forgetting to tell you SOLD OUT NYC FRINGE — and where I finally embraced my full self in a performance space. In a hot way.
It was a crazy amount of work. Aarushi (me, a ray of sunshine in hot human form)got producers, fundraised, expanded a 19-min off-the-cuff slide show into a fully-realized hour-long show with hella jokes, original music, hyperfocus-addled multimedia, emoji 🤪❤️🙂🦋🧿 & (most importantly) a philosophical takeaway!
It’s about human connection in the digital age — and this newsletter is a fractal of that process.
You’re right, it’s weird + huge + intimate to write something that direct-inboxes your audience. It’s brave. You should do it, too! That vulnerability is something we can alchemize! Into a better universe. We need to be clear & brave these strange days. ❤️🔥
